Evergreen's New Indoor Sport: Golf

Just a few days ago we were enjoying springlike weather, but we all knew that Mother Nature would soon usher in colder temperatures as winter approaches.

In the past, that meant the end of the golf season for all but the most hardy diehards. But not this year! Indoor golf has come to Evergreen. This is not windmills and clowns of putt-putt golf, but instead virtual golf and laser tecnology. This is hitting real golf balls with real clubs and having each and every swing carefully analyzed and the computerized results posted in front of you on a huge screen. You can watch your ball flight from two different angles and view a wide variety of swing information including club and ball speed, launch angle, swing path and closed and open face club information. How far did that shot go, how high did it fly and how long was it in the air? All of this and even more.

Golfers of all abilities can benefit from this instant analysis. This is the chance to fine tune that swing until it becomes the consistent and repetitive one for which golfers strive. A swing you can really depend upon.

And once that swing is grooved and ready to be tested on the course, there is a virtual golf course ready for your enjoyment. Play 9 holes, 18 holes. Stroke play, match play or try your luck at a skins game with your buddies. It just doesn't get any better than this for winter entertainment and fun.

There will be family days and nights, leagues, tournaments, clinics, junior programs and special events. Gift certificates are available for that special golfer in your life. The basic rate is $12 per half hour with a variety of discount certificates being offered by Evergreen businesses such as Paragon Sports, Goodyear Tires and Blue Spruce Market. The $12 rate is the total cost per half hour-split the time with a friend and you each only pay $6.00.

So, where is this golfing experience taking place? The new Golf Club at Evergreen Fitness and Tennis Center, 2932 Evergreen Parkway. The Golf Club is open to the general public. You can reserve tee times, learn about price specials or get more information by calling the club at (303) 674-6902 x7 or call the Golf Coordinator (Bill Luftig) at (303) 246-3675.

Don't put those clubs away for the winter-it's time for indoor golf right here in Evergreen.
