The undefeated MAMFA Predators 8th grade division III football team celebrated an impressive victory Wednesday night against Golden Thunder in a much awaited game between first ranked Predators and the third ranked Thunder team. The 66-0 win ensures the Predators a spot in the playoffs which begin in November.
"We played a great game tonight and had a very convincing win," said Predators head coach
David Leek. "Overall I am very proud of our team. We are 6-0 and playing well," he said.
The Predators dominated the game right from the start when safety
Thomas Kim intercepted Golden's first play from scrimmage and ran for a Predator's touchdown. Later,
Hunter Shively, #1, ruined Golden's only serious scoring threat by intercepting just as time ran out in the first half. At halftime the Predators led 27-0 and finished the game 66-0, recording their 5th shutout victory in 6 games. Nine Predators scored in the balanced offensive attack:

Several students came out in the clear fall night to cheer on the MAMFA team which added to the excitement of the evening. West Jefferson Middle School principal
Frank LaViolette was spotted cheering for the MAMFA team as well. The next Predators game will be on Saturday, Oct. 18, against the Golden Warriors at Bell Middle School with kickoff at 9 a.m. A rematch between the Predators and the Thunder can be seen on Oct. 25, 11:30 a.m. at Evergreen High School.
The Predators Division III team is comprised of eighth grade boys from West Jefferson Middle School; Evergreen Middle School and theMontessori School of Evergreen. Team members are:
