Of Pinata Makers and Good Council Candidates

I just received the funniest phone call inquiry and just had to share:

A man called and said, Are you a pinata maker? I googled modern pinata makers and your name and phone number came up.

Just goes to show you: you really have to verify what you find on the Internet! I mean I don't know where that could have come from. I am not Hispanic or Mexican and not an artist or maker of any type of sculpture, paper mache or other.

The only link I could come up with was when I edited an article on pinata makerslast year for the Denver Urban Spectrum newspaper, but my name was not on the story and definitely not my phone number.

Anyway, that being said, check out an Internet site of a friend of mine. Jenice "JJ" Dove is running for the City Council seat of Ward One in Thornton. I support her campaign and believe in her.

Here at: http://www.myspace.com/jenicejjdove

She's a serious candidate, plus she has a good sense of humor. She is walking the walk and talking the talk, having knocked on thousands of doors in her campaign. She has been endorsed by many groups and individuals.

Her flier says:
She is running to empower the citizens of Ward 1, by taking a stand and serving her citizens. She advocates for senior citizens and supports planning foraffordable housing.

JJ is having a fundraising party this weekend on Sept. 19. If you want to meet her and consider contributing to her campaign, contact her through her web site.
