Blog Entry 89 of 100 Keeping Up With Federal Heights
A place to find out about the latest news in Federal Heights, a small community just north of Denver. Former Federal Heights City Councilmember Tanya Ishikawa updates you weekly on city government issues and decisions and other happenings around town.

Federal Heights Candidate Forum Wed., Sept. 23

All Federal Heights residents should come out to the Federal Heights City Council Candidate Forum, sponsored by MetroNorth Newspapers, at 7 p.m. on Wed., Sept. 23 at the City Hall, 2380 W. 90th Ave. It's THE opportunity to see and hear thefive candidates speak about city issues and their ideas.

One of my pet peeves is when voters make their ballot selections blindly, without reading candidate survey answers in newspapers or attending any forums. Making a decision based on seeing a sign or and ad just isn't enough. You can tell a lot more about a candidate's aptitude and attitude by reading their answers to questions or hearing them in person.

The election begins in mid-October when the mail-in ballots are sent out and ends on election day 2009, Nov. 3. Please plan to vote, as local government leaders are just as critical to community success as any other elected officials. If you aren't registered at your Federal Heights residence, please register or re-register with Adams County.

And, please plan to come to the forum and tell a friend. Heck, bring a friend.
