HubCap: Pick a side
Contributed by: Brendan Leonard/YourHub.com   on 10/13/2006

My brother often argues that bacon is a vegetable, since it can be placed on top of a hamburger like other vegetables like lettuce, mushrooms and onions. He knows better than this, of course, but refuses to concede the point that bacon is meat because it comes from animals. Many an argument has been had because he thinks it's funny to insist that bacon is a vegetable, and refuses to back down in the name of reason or common sense.

My brother's insistence reminds me of many people's behavior come election season. They, as in "they who disagree with my political viewpoint," know in their hearts that they're wrong, and if they'd just agree with me, the world would be a much better place.

Well, you're probably sick of all that political crap by now, so let's get down to what's important: sports and celebrities. Here are three points that everyone knows they have a position on. These are not my opinions; they are those of the people who posted the blogs and stories stating such opinions (click on their names to read the fleshd-out arguments):

1. Jake Plummer is the only man fit for the starting quarterback position on the Denver Broncos. Opinion courtesy Jesse Schaffer, of Littleton.

2. Earl Boykins would be a decent backup point guard, but the Nuggets would be in much better shape if they got a better shooting guard instead of having Boykins fill the role. Opinion courtesy Jim Toft, of Denver.

3. Stephen King could have been a lot more friendly at that meet-and-greet that fans paid $300 to get into. Instead, he acted like he would have rather been somewhere else. Opinion courtesy YourHub.com superblogger Rob Guthrie, of Parker.

What do you think?
