Couple celebrates 50th anniversary

Dick and Lois (Hoffman) Meis, of unicorporated Adams County, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 18.

The couple was married in Fort Morgan. They men in seventh grade in the 4-H band and have been performing music since then.

They went to Nashville, where Lois recored for United Artists records. The performed with many Grand Ol' Opry artists, but moved back to Colorado in 1966 to make a more stable home for sons Greg and Gary.

They continue to perform and Dick sells steel guitar teaching materials and accessories on his site, www.pedalsteelguitar.net.

Their sons will be giving a party for family and friends in celebration of their 50 years together.
