Ishikawa Named Acting Mayor Pro Tem

Federal Heights City Councilmember Tanya Ishikawa was appointed as Acting Mayor Pro Tem on June 16. Ishikawa is the top elected official of the city of Federal Heights from Tuesday, June 17 to Friday, June 20, due to the mayor and mayor pro tem leaving town for a conference.

A group from Federal Heights including City Manager David Blanchard, Mayor Joyce Thomas, Mayor Pro Tem Richard Steele, and two other council members are at at the annual Colorado Municipal Leagueconference in Steamboat Springs for four days. The League isa Denver-basedorganization that lobbies for cities and towns and provides training and consultation for local government employees and officials.

Ishikawa has been a city council member representing Ward One of Federal Heights since December 2007. She is a professional writer and editor, mother, amateur filmmaker, and an active member of the Green Party of Colorado.
