MAN STEALS LOTS OF WOOD FROM SAFEWAY
A 38-year-old unincorporated Adams County man was arrested on suspicion of stealing 41 wood palettes from Safeway, 10300 Federal Blvd., valued at $3,075 at 7:35 p.m. March 30. The wife of the manger spotted someone putting the palettes into the back of his green truck on March 30 and she contacted police at 3:19 p.m.. Someone had stolen palettes from the store two days earlier. Agencies in the area were alerted of the incident, and an Adams County Sheriff noticed a truck parked in a garage that fit the description, along with a number of palettes that filled the garage. The man, who is a Mexican national, said he thought the palettes were trash, although there are signs behind the store warning against stealing the palettes.
