Doug Darr and the Adams County Sheriff's Office are proud to announce the recent graduation of Lieutenant
T.J Coates, Sergeant
Karl Smalley, Sergeant
Rick Benson and Sergeant
Ron Lase from the Northwestern University's Center for Public Safety.
On January 16, 2009, the graduates were among twenty-seven students who completed the ten-week School of Police Staff and Command. The training is focused on Management and Management Theory, Organizational Behavior, Human Resources for Law Enforcement, Budgeting, Staffing Allocation and Personnel Deployment.
Sheriff Darr stated, "We are committed to serving the community well. To do this we must have skilled, informed and well-educated employees. We strive to provide quality training for the members of the Sheriff's Office so they are able to maximize their potential and the contributions they are able to make to the Sheriff's Office and to the citizens of Adams County. Northwestern University's Center for Public Safety offers an exceptional training opportunity and we carefully select the attendees for courses of this nature. Those who attend have demonstrated the ability and desire to apply the course curriculum to obtain maximum benefit from the experience."
