wife Sharon, one daughter Kelly, and four grandsons...Conner (8), Alex (7), Ethan (20 months), and Zackery (2 1/2 months)
Employment: Service Supervisor at Budget car rental @ DIA
Favorite place to hang out: At home with my family ( daughter-son in law- and grandsons live with us )
What I like about living here: Small town feeling, even though we are surrounded by major populated cities. It's a rarity to actually know your neighbors and city employees by name.
Interests: I enjoy lapidary work, But mostly trying to be a good husband, father, and grandfather, like my Dad was.
Cooking: Bacon, scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, and pancakes.
People that inspired me: My Dad. He was born into a very abusive atmosphere. He had the courage at the age 13 to change is life. He ran away from home (Kansas), hitch-hiked to Fairplay Colorado, was taked in by a sheephearders family, enlisted in the service, married, had a son, adopted me when I was 1 1/2 years old, and ultimately settled here in Federal Heights and became a successful business owner (Rodeo Market 2...27 years)
How I have contributed to Federal Heights: Owned several business here, created BIG DADDY DALE'S THANKSGIVING DAY FEAST where we served over 1200 people (over a three year period), donated dozens of American flags to Federal Heights Elementary School, was elected as Mayor in 1999 and re-elected in 2003, won a recall election in 2006, and continue to lead Federal Heights.
Biggest issues facing Federal Heights: City revenues versus expenses, water issues with Westminster (our provider), infrastructure maintainence (water and sewer lines, road and street repair, sidewalks curb and gutter, and more), maintaining the high level of city services that our citizens expect and deserve, and ultimately...continually enhancing the quality of life within our community, all on a very modest operating budget.
