Senior Hub a deserving organization
Contributed by: Mildred Earley on 10/5/2006

As a board member of the Senior Hub located at 2360 West 90th Avenue in Federal Heights, I would like to nominate them for a community grant.

Contrary to their name, the Senior Hub serves persons of many ages and backgrounds. Under the capable hands of Howard Yeoman, the executive director, with the help of several dedicated employees and volunteers, they accomplish many excellent services.

Meals on Wheels provides a hot noontime meal to home bound people in the area, the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program stimulates the participation of older adults in community service.

Senior Solutions is an information, counseling and problem solving service foradults in need of assistance, coordinates care management, an emergency food bank and a medical equipment lending program.

Respite and In-Home Supportive Services uses volunteers and employee caregivers to provide in-home respite care.

Minor Home Repair Program provides a network of low-cost handyman services.
Rural Nutrition Program is a combination of Meals on Wheels and congregate meal sites in Bennett and Strasburg.

Tax Counseling for the Elderly offers free tax help to older adults.

Adult Day Service provides a place for disabled adults to go during the day to receive social stimulation, assistance and supervision, giving caregivers time to care for their own needs.

I truly believe the Senior Hub is very deserving of receiving your most generous offer of a grant for being a great service to many needy persons in the community.
Thank you for your time and commitment,

Mildred Earley

Former city of Federal Heights councilwoman
