Vitalism vs. Mechanism
Contributed by: DR. SEAN REIF D.C. on 6/10/2006

VITALISM vs. MECHANISM

Medicine is based on mechanism, correction by intervention, which has some science, mostly art. Chiropractic is based on vitalism, correction by connection, which has some science, mostly art. Each claims to be scientific based on its own "science."

We know the results we get. So do 80% of our patients. But, how do we communicate this vitalistic science so it makes sense to our patients?

Much of the office procedure, doctor-patient relationship and general success in chiropractic come from the abilities of both the doctor and his assistants to communicate this DIFFERENT, vitalistic science to patients and make it understood. It is based on patient care, honesty, love, and doctor-CA-patient relationship as best practiced at Thornton Family Chiropractic.

The world is headed back to NATURAL METHODS. Drugs, though rampant, are looked upon by more and more with distain. Chiropractic is, indeed, in our future. You are ready and waiting for it! If you are not doing what you see others doing, the solutions lie within YOU! Look deep within. Face it. Take steps to correct the problem, regardless of how long it may take. You possess all the "tools" within your skin to start on your life's Mission, Talent, and Destiny of a more Successful, Healthy, and Happy life. Let us nurture this possession and awaken this "Sleeping Giant Within" by receiving periodic adjustments.

You have the intelligence, will power and initiative. This is why you were led to chiropractic. Take the position of "THIS is what I can become! WALK THROUGH THAT DOOR, for the first time."

“I firmly believe that in every situation, no matter how difficult, God extends grace greater than the hardship, and strength and peace of mind that can lead us to a place higher than we were before.”
