There is something special about hummingbirds. If you watch one for a while, you find yourself thinking, "How can they be so small?" and "How can they move so fast?" "Is that a really a bird or some kind of insect?" Plus, they seem to have such personality. If you watch them each, fight and play you can tell which ones are fiesty and which ones are really just looking for lunch. When the guys are showing off for the gals, they makes huge looping displaying all while fanning their tail feathers and making those distinctive chirps and buzzes.
Hummingbirds are so great. If you haven't seen them in a while, they are all over the place at Castlewood Canyon. There are feeders at the Visitor Center and you can really sit and watch them for hours. They really are something special.

I love hummingbirds. I thought it was so funny when I heard some tourists at the Royal Gorge asking what they were when they were buzzing around a hummingbird feeder and a sign that read "hummingbirds".
