Blog Entry 5 of 168 Dot's Droppings

Droppings:Tesla, Brain worms and Icelandic justice
Contributed by: Dot the Dog   on 7/5/2006

Happy Fifth of July, folks. I would have posted an entry yesterday, but I was cowering under the picnic table hoping for a hot dog or two to fall on the ground. The life of a scavenger isn't pretty.

Let's get right to it, shall we?

Are you writing these down?
Ok, I know I've posted links to wikiHow, the community how-to manual, before, but this one takes the cake. A real quote from "How to Deal with Being in Prison" by Tim Brown: "7. Recognize that nights are the worst. You will miss your family, and freedom. You will probably cry, so stifle it into your pillow so no one will hear." Dark.

Crazy like a fox!
Scroll down a bit to read some interesting facts about Nikolai Tesla(see photo), the inventor of alternating current and ardent Columbiphile (look it up). Among his strange features: Abnormally long thumbs.

The Grinch That Stole Canada Day
Tip: If you need to relieve yourself after a night of Canada Day revelry, don't do it on one of your country's most beloved landmarks.

So what? Dogs do that all the time.
Getting muddy in Turkey. Nice photo.

A worm in the hand is worth 400 in your brain
An Indian barber had 400 worm cysts removed from his brain. Makes your little headaches kind of pale in comparison, no?

Seriously, I won't do it again
Now a story from my favorite newspaper ever, the Reykjavik Grapevine(mostly because I can't think of two words that have less in common with each other than Reykjavik and grapevine). Apparently, an apology and a 'sincere' promise are enough to get you off of child molestation charges in the Icelandic justice system.

Breaking News: Survivor winner can't tell difference between puppy, coyote
Wow, and here I thought reality show winners were the cream of the human crop. This hits particularly close to home, considering the species of the victim. I guess he still hasn't acclimated to real food yet (puppy = two square meals to Survivor contestants).

And now, another installment of Twenty-Two Seconds Of Your Life You Will Never Get Back, starring our old friend Tom Bauer. Go get 'em, Tom!
