"A Harvest of Quilts' offers Exhibit, Demos and Author Visit
The exhibit is free and is designed to contribute to the community's knowledge and appreciation of the art of quilting. More than 100 quilted items will be on display. The variety of items will include large bed-sized quilts, lap quilts, wall hangings, quilted art, and wearables. Demonstrations will include: paper piecing, hand quilting, and "Fun and Done", a technique where the quilting is done as the block is pieced.
Carolyn Cullinan McCormick will be demonstrating her paper piecing method throughout the day on Friday. Carolyn is the author of four paper piecing books, and the creator of the popular "Add-A-Quarter" and "Add-Enough" paper piecing tools. Carolyn's books include: Carolyn's Paper-Pieced Garden, Hard Times, Splendid Quilts - A 1930's Celebration, No-Stress Paper Piecing - 13 Projects Using Flannel or Cotton, and Quilts for Rosie - Paper Piecing Patterns from the '40s.
