Look Up the Canyon from Flattop, Part 1

What:	A steep climb up the rim will over some grand views looking south toward the Dam and headwaters of Cherry Creek. Below will be scrub oak that will be beginning their transition into their multi-colored coat. There is a ponderosa pine that appears that someone has taken a fake tree and glued it on the caprock. We may see some mountain lion tracks, this is lion country. One stop is next to a historic, dry stacked wall. Offer your opinion to GOCO Interpreter Ron Claussen about the wall's age and purpose. This hike is all off trail so appropriate footwear is a must. A camera, binoculars and water are musts. Meet at the Homestead Parking Lot. Give us a call at 303-688-5242 to make your reservation.
