Police blotter: Man busted for assault, guns taken

Incidents reported by Glendale Police

MAN ARRESTED, GUNS CONFISCATED
A 27-year-old Glendale man was arrested on suspicion of assault and prohibited use of a weapon after an argument with another resident of his apartment complex on the 4600 block of East Mississippi Avenue on July 5. Police were called about 10:15 p.m. after the suspect allegedly threw a bucket of water at a child who had been squirting water at him, striking him in the head with the bucket. When the father of the child came to the 27-year-old man's apartment, he allegedly pointed a shotgun at the man and said "If you want some, come get it." The shotgun and another gun were confiscated by police.

MAN BUSTED FOR ASSAULTING WIFE
A 36-year-old Glendale man was arrested on suspicion of assault, domestic violence and harassment July 3 after he alleged struck his wife in the face during an argument in their apartment on the 4700 block of East Mississippi Avenue about 8:50 p.m. Police said the man also prevented his wife from using a phone to call police.

STORE EMPLOYEE ARRESTED FOR THEFT
A 21-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting at Target Superstore, 4301 E. Virginia Ave., on July 3. Police said the woman, an employee, had been observed by store security using another person's credit card to scan credit onto a gift card, and also had cash shortages from cash registers she worked at totaling more than $800. The woman was issued a summons for theft.

TOYOTA BREAK-IN REPORTED
A 25-year-old woman reported the break-in of her 2006 Toyota Corolla while parked at Bally's Fitness, 720 S. Colorado Blvd., on July 7. A report stated a drivers side window was broken and the woman's purse stolen from the car trunk. A stolen credit card was later used at a gas station. Damage was estimated at $200.

MAN ARRESTED FOR SHOPLIFTING
An 18-year-old Denver man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting from Target Superstore, 4301 E. Virginia Ave., on July 6. Store security allegedly saw the man conceal two video games in his pocket after disposing of the product packaging and try to leave the store without paying for them. The games were valued at $39.98.
