Police blotter: Drunk driver: 'I'm going to jail.'

DRUNK DRIVER: 'I'M GOING TO JAIL'
Police pulled over a 39-year-old Centennial man after he struck a curb on the 4400 block of East Kentucky Avenue at about 12:32 a.m. May 26, according to police reports. Police said on contact, the man said "I'm going to jail," and claimed to be drunk. The man reportedly failed roadside and breath tests. He was cited for suspicion of misdemeanor DUI and careless driving and felony driving under revocation of license or as a habitual offender. Police released the suspect to a sober party.

VEHICLE STOLEN FROM LOT
An unknown suspect stole a 39-year-old man's 2006 GMC Yukon from the lot of the Target store at 4301 E. Virginia Ave. on May 22, according to police reports. Police say the man parked the vehicle in the lot at about 6 p.m. May 22 and returned at 11 a.m. May 24 to find the vehicle had been stolen. Police reviewed security footage and found that it had been taken at 9:53 p.m. May 22, but there were not enough details visible to identify a suspect. The vehicle was worth an estimated $30,000.

CAR BREAK-IN COSTLY
A woman lost more than $2,000 in possessions when an unknown suspect broke into her car in the 24 Hour Fitness parking garage on 4120 E. Alameda Ave. on May 21. Police say some time between 2:35 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., the suspect broke the passenger-side window of her vehicle and stole a wallet with $500 in cash, as well as medicine, clothes and a phone. Damage to the window was estimated to be cost about $300.

ARREST IN ROOMMATE ASSAULT
Police responded to an assault report at an apartment on the 500 block of South Fairfax Street at about 8:13 p.m. May 24. Upon arrival they met a 38-year-old man who told them his roommate, 29, had attacked him. The man had a bite mark in his arm that had swollen to the size of a golf ball and had burst blood vessels in one eye. Police arrested the suspect on suspicion of third degree assault. When they found he had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on traffic charges in El Paso County, the suspect was taken to the Arapahoe County Jail. The other man was taken to Rose Medical Center for treatment.

DRUNK DRIVER NABBED
Policed pulled over a 40-year-old Denver man near the 100 block of Cherry Street at about 11:38 p.m. May 28 on suspicion of drunk driving. The man reportedly failed roadside and breath testing. He was taken to Glendale Police Department and processed on DUI counts and expired plates. He was released on a summons and given a courtesy ride home.

PROTESTERS JAILED AFTER HOME DEPOT TRESPASS
Police were called to Home Depot at 860 S. Colorado Blvd. at about 8:07 a.m. May 27 on a report of two people spotted on the roof. Police said the two suspects, a 28-year-old male from Tucson, Ariz., and a 26-year-old female from Jacksonville, Ore., laid flat on the roof, out of view, when police called them down. A Home Depot employee let officers onto the roof, where the two were arrested without incident on suspicion of trespassing and interfering with a police officer. Police said the two had planned to hang a banner protesting a distributor from which Home Depot buys lumber. The suspects were taken to the Arapahoe County Jail.
