SUSPECT'S ALIAS WANTED, TOO
Police responded to Walgreen's, 360 S. Colorado Blvd., on a report of shoplifting at about 8:16 p.m. July 13. Employees said the female suspect had opened a display case with a key she found and stole several bottles of perfume. According to reports, police found a woman, 55, matching the description of the suspect outside the store. During questioning, police said the woman gave them a false name, that of her roommate. Unfortunately for her, her roommate had two warrants out for her arrest. During a search incident to arrest, police found five bottles of perfume in the woman's purse. Police arrested her on suspicion of third-degree burglary and filing a false report. She was taken to Arapahoe County Jail.
MAN DISCOVERS TRUCK HE BOUGHT IS STOLEN
An Aurora man got an unpleasant surprise when he took his car in for police inspection July 13. Police said the man needed an inspection to qualify for a bonded title for his pick-up truck and met with an officer in a parking lot on the 900 block of South Birch Street. When police checked the vehicle's background, they found it had been stolen from an owner in Cleveland, Tenn., on May 22. The man told police he had purchased the vehicle from an Aurora man for $500 in June. He told police he would find the bill of sale to provide information on the suspect. The vehicle was impounded.
