A FIGHT, THEN HIT-AND-RUN
An ordinary fight escalated to something potentially deadly the morning of July 20, outside El Potrero, 320 S. Birch St. Police said at about 1:57 a.m., two men were fighting in the parking lot when one of them grabbed a drinking glass and shattered it over the other man's head. He then climbed into a silver Infiniti SUV and ran over a third party on his way out. When police arrived, they spoke to witnesses, but were unable to locate the suspect or the other parties involved. They gathered evidence, including broken glass, tire marks and blood.
CAR STOLEN OVERNIGHT
An unknown suspect stole a Glendale man's vehicle some time between 9:30 p.m. July 18 and 8:40 a.m. the next morning, according to police reports. Police said the man parked the vehicle in an apartment parking lot on the 1000 block of South Dahlia Street. Police did not report finding any witnesses or suspects.
STRIP CLUB SKINFLINT BAILS ON BILL
Police arrested a 39-year-old man on suspicion of misdemeanor theft after they say he tried to sneak out of Shotgun Willie's, 490 S. Colorado Blvd., without paying his bill. Police said by 9:11 p.m. July 16, the man had racked up a $120 bill for lap dances, but was unable to pay for them when several ATM transfers were declined for lack of funds. Police said the man attempted to sneak out the front door, but was caught. He was taken to Arapahoe County jail, where he was held on a $750 bond for suspicion of misdemeanor theft.
