Ex-husband harasses, calls woman 39 times
Police responded to the 4800 block of Leetsdale Drive at 2 p.m. July 27 on a disturbance report. When police arrived, they spoke with a Glendale woman who said her ex-husband and father of their two children had been continuously calling and texting her cell phone. The woman said the 33-year-old man had called 39 times and texted 29 times between 6 a.m. and noon that day. She added he has physically and emotionally abused her. Denver Police helped in the apprehension of the man, who was arrested on suspicion of harassment and domestic violence. He was booked at the Glendale Police Department.
Man tries to steal $300 worth of liquor
At 6:46 p.m. July 27, police responded to Target, 4301 E. Virginia Ave., on an assault report. When police arrived, they spoke to store security who said a 33-year-old man attempted to steal $317.09 worth of liquor. When he was caught, police said the man tried to flee and during pursuit, struck a security officer in the face. A copy of the store's surveillance video was turned over to police. The man was taken to Glendale Police Department on suspicion of robbery and later taken to Arapahoe County Jail.
Man accuses girlfriend of pan, knife attack
A 58-year-old Glendale man was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and third-degree assault after giving a false statement to police Aug. 1. At 11:47 p.m., police responded to the 1100 block of South Bellaire Street on a domestic violence report. Police first located the man at a parking lot at 4251 E. Mississippi Ave. and he told officers he and his girlfriend had gotten into an argument and she hit him over the head with a pan and attacked him with a knife. When police later spoke with the woman, she said the man had pushed her to the floor after she threatened to call his wife because she didn't want him at her apartment. Police observed a small bump on the right side of the woman's face. The man was arrested and taken to the Glendale Police Department.
Park restrooms vandalized
At 10:08 a.m. Aug. 3, police responded to Mir Park at 520 S. Elm St. on a criminal mischief report. When police arrived, they spoke with an employee of Cintas Corporation, which contracts with the city of Glendale to clean park restrooms. The employee discovered graffiti in the restrooms at 9 a.m. The employee notified the public works department, who then reported the incident to police. Police believe these markings are gang related. The damage will cost the city $1,000.
