Servers uncover fake $20 bill
At 9:01 a.m. Aug. 14, police responded to Gunther Toody's, 4500 E. Alameda Ave., on a counterfeit money report. Police spoke with a female employee who said during the evening shift on Aug. 13, servers were counting money when they found what appeared to be a fake $20 bill. They confirmed it was fake with a detection pen. Police seized it to book into evidence.
Restaurant's restrooms tagged
At 10:09 a.m. Aug. 10, police responded to Grubber Grille, 4400 E. Kentucky Ave., on a criminal mischief report. Police spoke with a man who reported graffiti inside the restaurant's restrooms. Police said the place is near Infinity Park and no suspect information was found.
Man's car stolen from parking lot
A 26-year-old man reported an auto theft to police at 6:41 p.m. Aug. 12. The man told police he had left Old Chicago at 2 a.m. Aug. 10 to head north on Colorado Boulevard. He realized he had too much to drink and parked his vehicle in the Barnes and Noble parking lot, 960 S. Colorado Blvd., and took a taxi home. At 3 p.m later that day, he saw his vehicle was gone. No suspect information was found.
