Man tries to steal new pair of shoes
At 1:03 p.m. Sept. 18, police responded to Sports Authority, 370 S. Colorado Blvd., on a shoplifting report. A prevention loss officer saw a 46-year-old man put on a new pair of shoes, place his old pair in the box and attempted to walk out of the store. He was detained and later transported to the police department. The value of the shoes is $99.

Woman's purse snatched
At 12:07 a.m. Sept. 20, police responded to Sangria Lounge, 4501 E. Virginia Ave., on a theft report. Police spoke with a 22-year-old woman who said while she was on the patio, an unknown man grabbed her purse off her wrist and fled. The total loss was $200. The woman wasn't able to provide a description of the man.

Man's GPS, jump drive stolen
At 7:06 p.m. Sept. 22, police responded to 24 Hour Fitness, 4120 E. Alameda Ave., on a theft report. Police spoke with a 32-year-old man who said when he returned to his car in the parking garage, he saw his cell phone, GPS system and jump drive stolen. The total value of the items is $370. He noticed his door lock appeared to be "punched." There was no video surveillance of the incident.
