Driver hits pregnant bicyclist
At 10:20 a.m. Sept. 24, police responded to the intersection of Leetsdale Drive and South Cherry Street on an accident report. Police investigation revealed a 36-year-old woman driving a Ford F150 hit a 25-year-old woman on a bicycle. The woman on the bike was pregnant and was taken to Denver Health for treatment of her injuries. The driver was cited for careless driving.
Man caught using cocaine
At 11:30 p.m. Sept. 26, police responded to Shotgun Willies, 490 S. Colorado Blvd., on a possible drug possession report. Police spoke with a 36-year-old employee who said he was alerted by the bathroom attendant that a man was using drugs in one of the stalls. The man, a 23-year-old Westminster resident, was searched and police found what later tested positive for cocaine. He was transported to the Glendale Police Department for processing.
Break-in costs man $2,200
At 9:13 p.m. Sept. 23, police responded to the Cherry Creek Athletic Club, 500 S. Cherry St., on a theft report. Police spoke with a 43-year-old man who said his Blackberry, estimated at $400, was stolen from his Land Rover. The total cost of damage to his vehicle is $1,800.
