PetsHotel set to make its debut in Glendale
Contributed by: Shae Sneed on 7/7/2008

Colorado-area pet parents don't have to be rich or famous to make sure their pets can take a bite (so to speak) out of the good life.

On July 12, the region's first PetsHotel will officially open its doors at the PetSmart location at:

4300 E Alameda

Glendale, CO 80246

With more than 5,000 square feet at their disposal, canine and feline PetsHotel guests are treated to a high-quality day and overnight care service. Amenities range from poochy cots and hypoallergenic lambskin blankets to supervised play and park-like relief areas.

The location in Glendale is just one component in PetSmart's overall plan to increase the number of PetsHotel within its stores to a grand total of 435. To date, PetSmart boasts more than 70 hotels in nearly 30 states. On track to open 35 new hotels this year alone, the company's boarding business is the largest and fastest growing in the sector.

Prior to checking in at PetsHotel, 40 percent of PetSmart's hotel patrons never boarded their dogs and/or cats. Half of all PetsHotel customers will also make the leap and purchase extras (like special treats and play time), while a third will opt for grooming services.

In addition, 40 percent of the pet parents call - via the bone booth - to hear their loved one's bark or meow.

PetSmart is getting the message as well. Stores boasting PetsHotels have seen their revenues jump by nearly 30 percent.
