Blog Entry 27 of 152 Gladys Mercier, Arvada.
I like living in Arvada.I am a member of Trinity Baptist Church and have many good friends there.I lived in the same house in Denver until I married, so as you can see, I am a native. My husband and I adopted 2 Korean sons who are now adults, 1 is a State Patrol Sgt. (Retired), the other is an upholsterer. My husband died Sept.1st,2005. My family is a real blessing to me.I will probably write most about them, especially my great grandchildren (5)

What a great place.

My son Ron, asked me if I would like to go out to lunch today. What a silly question. Of course I would like to go out to lunch. Never mind that my clothes are shrinking. I have been half heartedly trying to lose a few pounds before I go to Indiana Sunday. I always gain MORE weight when I go on vacation.
Anyway, back to my lunch story, he said he wanted to take me to a restaurant that he had just dicovered in Westminster, near 92nd and Sheridan.
He assured me that he knew exactly where it was and about 30 minutes later, he finally stopped and asked a very nice man at Albertsons who took him across the parking lot and pointed the restaurant out to him. Yes, we were on the wrong side of Sheridan.
The restaurant is called Pappadieux which sounded an awful lot like Papa Joes to me.
I have to tell you this place is expensive. I also have to tell you that the food is wonderful! There is a large old fishing boat parked outside which gives you a clue that it is a seafood restaurant but they also have some New Orleans style dishes like gumbos and blackened spicy fish entrees. I had the best crab cakes I have ever eaten.
I really enjoyed going with Ron. I will be heading for South Bend, Indiana on Sunday for a week.
