Visits to Golden apparently necessitate helmets.

I snapped this photo of my buddy Nick just before we started climbing at North Table Mountain in Golden on Sunday. Although it was about 45 degrees down in Golden (and Denver), the south side of the cliffs caught all the sun, and it ended up being a really nice day for us to act like we knew what we were doing. The cliffs there are great for climbing, and are apparently no secret. We must have seen 50 other people up there in four hours.

After not having spent a lot of time in Golden over the past year and a half, I ended up there Saturday on a bike ride, wearing a helmet, and on Sunday to climb at North Table Mountain, also while wearing a helmet.

Golden is not a dangerous place, as far as I know. I just often wear a helmet there because I'm doing fun things. I hope to snowboard down Mt. Zion so I can make use of my full helmet collection.
