The big news in Golden today is President Bush's visit to the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, covered in
every
major
news
source
in
the
metro
area.
It's a big deal, since the President's State of the Union speech was all about renewable energy and decreasing America's dependence on foreign oil.
And it certainly appears that someone didn't get the memo, when 32 NREL employees lost their jobs a few days ago. A few days before the president's visit. But, alas, miraculously, the Department of Energy restored $5 million to NREL this week, just in time for those people to get their jobs back before the president's visit.
