Become a pioneer at this year’s “Hands on History”
Contributed by: Friends of The Astor House Museum on 5/28/2008

What:
This week-long day camp will introduce 6 - 10 year olds to the excitement and adventure of pioneer life. In the late 1800's, thousands of people moved westward in search of a better life. Throughout the week, children will experience what it was like to travel west from start to finish as they pack up their wagon, begin their journey, encounter friendly Native Americans along the way, set up their new homestead, pan for gold, make butter and pie, care for their chickens and garden, and finally meet their neighbors and make new friends at pioneer school as their new community grows. This hands-on experience will surely become one of your child's most cherished memories. There are seven, week-long sessions from June 9-August 1. $160 for members and $195 for non-members. To register, call 303-278-3557 or go to astorhousemuseum.org for an online registration form.
Where: Clear Creek History Park
When: 8:30 A.M. - 3 P.M.
Event Dates: This event takes place every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 6/9/2008 through 8/1/2008.
