Donkey Days at Clear Creek History Park
Beginning June 17 th and continuing until August 27 th, we'll have two special guests every Tuesday and Wednesday. Specifically, we'll have a Jenny, a female donkey, and her baby. Historically donkeys were preferred over horses for working in the mines because they were more sure-footed and could carry more for their size-they also ate less. For the same reasons, they were also a favorite way for kids to reach school. Now you can talk to the chickens AND the donkeys-where else in Golden can you do that?!
Thank you to
Bill Lee of Laughing Valley Ranch for sharing his expertise and his animals. Slight changes to activities calendar may occur. The Clear Creek History Park is open 10-4:30 Tuesdays through Saturday and Sundays 11-3.
