Learning to Read the Rocks

What:	NEXT › ‹ PREVIOUS A brief classroom session discussing minerals and rocks - what they are, how they form, how to identify them, and how to read some of the stories they have to tell will be followed by a driving tour of several geologic sites. The trip will include Redrocks, the Hogback roadcut on I-70, the slopes of Table Mountain, and roadcuts along U.S. 40 in Mount Vernon Canyon. Bring water, snack, hat, notebook, etc. and PLEASE This program will start at Lookout Mountain Nature Center and then we will carpool to the above locations in a van. Ages 14 and above.
