In conjunction with the Arts Students League of Denver, Foothills Art Center proudly announces Colorado Clay, a juried biennial exhibition showcasing the best in contemporary ceramics by Colorado artists.
This year's juror,
Richard Notkin, is a full-time studio artist living in Helena, Montana. For over 35 years, Mr. Notkin's work has been exhibited internationally and is in numerous collections including the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C. He is perhaps most well known for his series of unglazed stoneware teapots inspired by the remarkable Yixing wares of China.
Mr. Notkin selected 12 artists who will submit up to ten pieces- a number which offers a significant and compelling look into each artist's body of work.

Jonathan Kaplan,
Mike Keene,
Jenna Perstlinger,
Shane Porter,
Chandler Romeo,
Shelley Schreiber.
Colorado Clay features a variety of techniques, surfaces and thematic approaches. The exhibiting artists explore figurative, architectural, organic, functional, narrative and installation concerns.
