The Denver Art Museum is an official Summer Chill Zone - a cool place to escape the heat especially during Ozone Action Alert days when the less active you are, the less ground-level ozone pollution is produced.
The two-day event kicks off on
Saturday, July 14, during which the museum will be open from
10 a.m. to midnight. It will continue on
Sunday, July 15, from
noon to 5 p.m.
Mayor John Hickenlooperwill be at the event on
Saturday at 10 a.m. to launch Denver's attempt to break the current Guinness World Record™ for the "longest painting by numbers." The finished painting will measure 400 feet in length and will celebrate the city of Denver within the greater context of the global community. For a detailed schedule of the weekend activities, visit

The free weekend is the last chance to see
RADAR: Selections from the Collection of Vicki and Kent Logan, an exhibition of international modern and contemporary art.
RADAR celebrates Vicki and Kent Logan's incredible personal vision and highlights their uncanny ability to detect-as if by radar-what's happening right now in art all over the world.
July 14 is also the opening of
Clyfford Still Unveiled: Selections from the Estate, organized by the Clyfford Still Museum. Thirteen major works by the artist will be on display, offering a sneak peek at what visitors will find when the Clyfford Still Museum opens next door to the Denver Art Museum in 2010.
Members of the Regional Air Quality Council (RAQC) Chill Crew will be at the museum so you can pledge to chill while enjoying the sights. More information about the Chill Pledge is available at
www.OzoneAware.org ( http://www.ozoneaware.org/ ).
