Know anyone who runs, and who has thought about running a marathon, but hasn't done so yet? Or a runner who just cares deeply about mental health or suicide prevention?
We have just the program to help them "go the distance" and to help launch our national organization so we can provide treatment services to more kids here in Colorado and around the country. 500 kids at-risk for suicide per year are referred to us here; we're trying to do the same in other communities.
Especially for first-time non-competitive marathoners who just want to complete 26.2 miles,we are putting together a training team to run the Denver Marathon this fall while raising funds to help us "go national" and to help
additional kids in Colorado too. Participants will receive the benefit of a training coach
and training advice, special camaraderie, training
schedules,a
training book, their marathon registration fee paid for, specialized running gear, pace groups, and assistance in fundraising. They'll also be helping to prevent suicides.
It'll be really exciting to be part of this inaugural group--personal challenge, lots of assistance, special memories, a great achievement, and a life-saving cause.
Training begins in May--you can achieve this dream and help us prevent youth suicide! Contact Second Wind Fund at 720-962-0706!
