High Noon on Golden's Washington Avenue

Buffalo Bill Days would not be the same without cowboys and cowgirls roaming around Washington Avenue waiting for the annual Wild West Show and Contests, one of the events during Golden's Buffalo Bill Days celebration. This year's show is being sponsored by a number of Downtown Golden merchants. It takes place immediately following the Best of the West parade on Saturday, July 25th right around, you guessed it, High Noon.

Come watch a quick draw contest right in the middle of Downtown Golden. Also featured will a be a beard and moustache contest, a Old West look alike and get this, a buffalo chip tossing contest for teams of four. Don't know what a buffalo chip is? Well come on down and see. Yes indeed, there will be plenty of western characters on Washington Avenue once again. Entry applications for the contests are available at the Golden Visitors Center or you can call 303-384-0003 or email goldenbuffalobilldays@msn.com.

Enjoy this fine show at noon as you spend a wonderful Saturday on July 26th in Golden. Start with the Fire Department's Pancake Breakfast at the firehouse on 10th St. from 6-10 AM; the parade starts at 10AM on Washington Ave., then mosey up the street to watch the all those cowboys and cowgirls compete, than back to Parfet Park for an afternoon and evening of music and fun. Ya'll come you hear!
