Denver Post columnist Tina Griego talks mentoring

Lakewood AAUW cordially invites local community members to join us at our September 10 branch meeting featuring Denver Post "Morning Brew" columnist Tina Griego. We're honoring Hispanic Heritage Month, and Ms. Griego will talk about mentoring and education.

The National Association of Hispanic Journalists named Ms. Griego the Frank del Olmo Print Journalist of the Year in 2006 for her work at the Rocky Mountain News, where she exposed the challenges facing Hispanic youth in the Denver-area public education system. Her reports prompted much-needed reforms and gave young Latinos a strong voice in the resulting solutions.

Ms. Griego will speak at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, at Holy Shepherd Lutheran Church, 920 Kipling St., Lakewood. Please feel free to stay afterward for the branch business meeting at 7:30 p.m. if you'd like to learn more about AAUW.
