For a good dose of old fashioned 4th of July celebration with a new millennium twist, come see the 4th of July lights at the historic Quaintance Block in downtown Golden!
This is our second year putting up this annual red, white and blue display, the summer counterpart of our Christmas lights.
During certain years we put up red, white and blue lights in support of our country, so why not do so for Independence Day every year?
This display is created from LED lights to make a striking appearance, festooned in alternating garlands centering in a half fan at the corner. It goes up every Memorial Day, then is relit at Flag Day and continues through Independence Day.
The Gardner family has actually put up a patriotic display every 4th of July since 1990, but this kind is a bit more wind resistant.
To see the lights, come to downtown Golden to 805 13th Street, just west of 13th and Washington, and I hope you enjoy.
