Crashing the Beatles!

Baby Boomers Unite and Remember the Fun Last Night

By Deborah Collette

There are many concert memories, but not enough time to remember all the fun. I saw and listened to Prince (my personal favorite), Peter Frampton; Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young; Frank Sinatra; Bob Dylan, Barry Manilow; The Beach Boys; Liberace; Jackson Brown, James Taylor (great concert in the best concert location, Red Rocks); Willie Nelson, Marshall Tucker; Stevie Wonder; Madonna; the Rolling Stones, Barbara Mandrell; the Kinks (my husband's favorite), multiple KOOL Concerts; Bruce Springsteen, Jimmy Buffet, Cheryl Crow, and even Ringo Starr. I saw these groups and enjoyed each concert. This is an eclectic bunch and all were good. I am proud to have been there to listen and sing-along.

I am a light-weight concert-goer, compared to my husband, who actually did see the Beatles, in 1965, at Dodger Stadium, in Los Angeles. His mother bought tickets for all Larry's brothers and sisters. Being there was more fun than watching the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show.

The evolution from seeing rockers to listening to classical music has been easier than anticipated, but I still feel old. Concerts make us feel young, so why do I feel so old? Being a young Baby Boomer should have its perks, like going to concerts, but I am still looking for the other perks.
