I would like to nominate The Golden Independent School for the $1,000 grant.
The school is a wonderful alternative education solution. The Head of School, Dr.
Erika Sueker (Ph.D Psychology) is a caring, patient, and wise leader. The school is quite diverse and places emphasis on individual learning styles, arts and music, as well as fresh air and outdoor projects.
The small school (they have about 15-20 kids) is adorable, very clean and neat, and lots of attention to detail. The teachers are fun and nurturing and art work and projects adorn the walls of every room. GIS is a safe, enticing, supportive and nurturing alterntive educational source for many students.
I'm sure they could use the money and put it to productive and educational resources. Feel free to look them up on the web at
