Allison Olsson, director, and members of Confluence (a division of the Golden Community Choirs) get into character as they practice for their upcoming "Demons and Deities" concert. The concert will be held Sunday Nov 8th, starting at 3 PM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 9200 West 10th Ave, Lakewood, and is the first in both the Golden Community Choirs and the Music at St. Paul's 2009-2010 Concert Series.
The show, described as "a humorous and lovely visit to ghoulish and angelic favorites", will celebrate Halloween and All Saints Day and will include sacred solos, duets and
a cappella choral pieces featuring
Miserere Mei Deus by Gregorio Allegri and
Unicornis Captivatur by Ola Gjeilo, as well as such favorites as Witchcraft, Monster Mash and Zombie Jamboree.
The Golden Community Choirs season will include the Dec 5th
Holiday concert, "A Christmas Radio Show" at 7:30pm, at Applewood Valley United Methodist Church, 2035 Ellis, Golden.As well as the Mozart Requiem with orchestra in May of 2010.
The St. Paul's Concert Series will include various performances by Confluence, the St. Paul's Choir, and a world premier and evening with composer Richard Fitzgerald in May.
Confluence is a division of Golden Community Choirs. Tickets are $15 at the door, and season tickets are also available that include the Golden Community Choirs' Holiday Radio Show.
