Make plans to come on out to Lions Park on July 4th and enjoy a day with your neighbors and friends.
The 37th Annual Golden Lions Club Fourth of July Festival will be held in Lions Park, 10th and Maple streets in Golden.
This day long event will feature food, entertainment, live bands and will culminate with a spectacular fireworks show around 9:30 p.m.
The Golden Lions Club is giving back to the community again this year with free rides for all the kids!
The Fourth of July Raffle, starting at 1 p.m. this year, will have more than200 prizes, worth over $15,000, and will feature a $1,000 grand prize.
Raffle tickets may be purchased from any Lions Club member for $1 each, or a book of 10 for $5 and you do not need to be present to win. To buy your raffle tickets, look for Lions Club members at local supermarkets, the Foss building, the Farmer's Market, Meyer Hardware and/or the Buffalo Rose, Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to noon.
The Fourth of July Festival Raffle is a major fundraiser for the Golden Lions and all proceeds from this family event go towards the club's Community Betterment Fund.
This fund has been used in the past to finance numerous construction projects around town that Golden residents enjoy every day.
The concession building at Ulysses Park, the restrooms at 12th and Arapahoe streets, the pavilions in Lion's, Norman D., Beverley Heights, and Southridge parks, and picnic tables and benches all around Golden have all been funded by the Community Betterment Fund. All proceeds are reinvested in projects for Golden. Your generous raffle ticket purchases help make all this happen.
Come on out and celebrate the holiday, show your community spirit, and help support a very good cause, the Golden Lions Club's Community Betterment Fund. For more information on this day-long event and a map to the park check out the Club's Web site at
