For our Christmas lights in downtown Golden this year we decided to add a little splash of purple, in honor of the Colorado Rockies' wonderful season. Our place is full of Rockies fans, myself since the very beginning, so I thought it might be a little neat to recognize our team in this way. They even have their own part of the Christmas town in the window. It's a remarkable feat for the boys of summer to show up at Christmastime, but that's just a walk in the park compared to the feats they already accomplished this year!
These lights are upon the historic Quaintance Block at 805 13th Street, and will remain shining through the 12th day of Christmas (January 5th). This purple and white display is a combination of incandescent and LED lights, the best combination of them I've been able to come up with so far. After 85 years of holiday lighting displays downtown I figured it was high time to add purple to Golden's list; we've come a long way since our original reds and greens.
