Tricia Dampier, the Colorado director for the Mrs. America Pageant system, is announcing that Jocelyn Morrow has been recently selected as the new Mrs. Golden and will represent her community in the 33rd annual state competition, to be held May 16, 2009 at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House in Denver.

Jocelyn is a native of Atlanta, but moved with her husband and three children to Golden in November 2006. Jocelyn and David are the founders and owners of Keyboards For Kids, Inc an after-school enrichment company employing more than 25 local musicians and educators. Last year Keyboards For Kids served more than 750 children in group keyboard, guitar, drum circle and Suzuki Strings classes.

While beauty is a key element in the competition, as well as personal interview and evening gown competition, Mrs. Colorado contestants are also urged to voice their opinions on marriage and important issues of the day.

The winner of the state competition will receive a prize package valued at more than $10,000 and advance on to compete with 49 other state delegates at the Mrs. America Pageant. Celebrating its 33rd year, the Mrs. America organization is the only nationally-televised pageant competition to recognize the one person who contributes so much to modern family life ... America's married woman!
