Leenheer/Doherty wedding

Rebecca Doherty and Andrew Leenheer are engaged to be married and are planning a September 23 wedding at Faith Lutheran Church in Golden. Becky is the daughter of John Kenneth Doherty and the late Barbara Doherty of Golden; Andrew's parents are Jerry and Cora Jean Leenheer of Golden Gate Canyon.

Doherty is a graduate of Golden High School and Colorado State University, where she prepared for medical school with a major in biology. She received her medical degree from Loma Linda Medical School in southern California in May. She is currently completing an internship at Presbyterian/Saint Luke's Medical Center and will begin her residency in ophthalmology at Loma Linda in June 2007.

Leenheer is a graduate of Faith Christian High School in Arvada. He received a bachelor of science degree in engineering physics from Colorado School of Mines last year and is earning a master's degree in materials science from Mines, working with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, to be completed next May.
