DRINKERS TOLD TO LEAVE PARK

On June 30 at 3:50 p.m. an officer was dispatched to Clear Creek near Parfet Park near 10th Street and Washington Avenue. Two men were drinking beer and throwing beer cans into Clear Creek. The men were sitting on a large rock near the water's edge. They were told to put the empty cans in a trash receptacle. A check showed both men were registered sex offenders. They were escorted away from the area and issued a summons for drinking while under an order to regulate consumption.

MAN ARRESTED ON BIKE THEFT

A 19-year-old man was issued a summons for theft and trespassing June 28 at 4:10 p.m. after officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of Ulysses Street on a burglary report. They were told a man was seen taking a green Schwinn bicycle valued at $200 from the backyard. The officer saw the suspect riding east on Ulysses and told him to stop, but he continued riding the bike. When the officer approached the bike rider a second time, he stopped, was advised of his rights and taken into custody.

PRANK CALLER GETS LECTURE

On June 29 at 1:47 a.m. an officer were dispatched to the 6500 block of Van Gordon Court in Arvada on a harassment call. The female resident said a man had called her three times asking if she wanted information about genital herpes. When asked if she wanted to pursue charges, she declined and said she wanted the calls to stop. The officer called the phone number on the caller ID and asked the man who answered about the unwanted calls. He responded by saying, "mmmhhhmmmmm." When the officer asked him his name, he said, "That is none of your business." The female officer reminded the man the phone calls were a crime. When the officer told the man she would have police come to his residence, he said, "Go ahead, I'd like to see you try and find me." The officer traced the phone number to an Arvada residence. She and another officer met an Arvada Police officer at the residence on the 9800 block of West 51st Avenue. The man's sister said he lived at a different location. The officers contacted the 27-year-old man at the Van Gordon residence. He apologized and said he and his friends were "just messing around." The officer advised him making prank calls and giving false information to an officer could result in charges. The man was released with a warning.
