Jeffco releases ID of attempt murder suspect


The suspect arrested on Feb. 10, for assaulting two people inside their home has been identified as Nicholas Andrew Ray Finney, dob 022088, of Bennett, Colorado. This occurred at approximately 9:30 Sunday morning in the 22400 block of Springflower Drive near Genesee.

Sheriff's investigators believe Finney entered the victims' home through an open garage door to steal valuables. Once inside, Finney went downstairs to the basement where he was confronted by the female homeowner.

He started beating her in the head with a golf club. The female's boyfriend happened to come back at that time and got into a fight with Finney. The boyfriend sustained minor injuries during the fight. Finney fled the house on foot.

Finney was spotted by deputies in the area and a lengthy foot pursuit ensued. Finney surrendered to deputies as they closed in on him.

While it is unknown as to how Finney got to the area Sheriff's investigators are seeking anyone that may have seen a dark colored Honda Civic. The number to call with information concerning this crime is 303-271-5612.

Finney is being held at the Jefferson County Jail on the following charges.
Attempt Murder
First Degree Burglary
Felony Theft
Felony Menacing
3rd Degree Assault
