Golden Police blotter: Woman's bag stolen
BURGLARY AT APARTMENT
An officer went to the 1000 block of Ninth Street on Feb. 3 at 5:44 p.m. on a report of a theft. The 49-year-old apartment building manager said she was in her living room watching TV when she heard her door open. She thought it was someone bring her their rent. When she went to say hello, she saw a man she didn't recognize grab her bag and run out the door. At 8:23 p.m. the woman called police to report she had her bag and camera back. The woman said someone knocked on her window and when she went outside the bag was on the windowsill. One of the two memory cards that was inside the bag was missing, but the camera was there. The case is under investigation.
STUDENT GIVEN SUMMONS
An officer on routine patrol Feb. 4 at 1:35 p.m. observed a vehicle circling Golden High School, 701 24th St., and radioed to check whether the car was registered to a student. While at the school he spoke to the school security agent, who told him a student had been turned into the office because he smelled of marijuana. The assistant principal was in the process of contacting the student's parents because he found a burnt marijuana "roach," an unknown pill, and marijuana paraphernalia. The student was given a summons for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
CAR STUCK IN HOTEL DRIVE
An officer who was called to assist a motorist who was stuck on the garage ramp of the Golden Hotel, 800 11th St. on Feb. 4 at 6:10 p.m. The 44 year-old driver was asked how much he smoked that day because the officer smelled marijuana. He said, not much." A search of the car turned up rolling papers and a pipe. When asked how much marijuana he had, the man said about a half-ounce. He was issued a summons for possession and paraphernalia.
HARRASSMENT SUMMONS ISSUED TWICE
A 51-year-old resident of the 1100 block of 12th Street called police Feb. 3 at 12:07 p.m. because a woman she described as a former friend would not stop calling her. The woman said she had changed her phone number six times and had asked the other caller at least 100 times to stop calling. After listening to two saved voice messages from the caller, the officer went to the home of the former friend on the 14000 block of Foothill Road. She was given a summons for harassment and warned not to contact the other woman again. On Feb. 4 a police officer received a message from the same victim and was told the caller called again twice. The officer listened to the voice messages, went to the caller's home and issued a second summons for harassment and warned the woman if it happened again, she could face felony charges.
