HOMELESS MAN STEALS FOOD
Police were called to the King Soopers at 17171 S. Golden Road on a shoplifting report at 5:10 p.m. April 27. Police met with a 51-year-old man who said he went into the store with an intent to steal food. He said he had been evicted from his home in Wheat Ridge and was homeless. He told police he was having a hard time and stole the food because he was hungry. He was given a summons for shoplifting and told if he returned to the store he would be arrested for trespassing. He took items that were valued at $74.07.

WYOMING MAN WANTS MONEY FOR SURGERY
A 27-year-old Wyoming man called police to make an assault report after he attended a bachelor party at the Hampton Inn on April 26 and was hit in the face by one of his friends. The man told police he needed the report so he could get surgery, which he estimated would cost $15,000. When police asked for details about his friend who hit him in the face, the man said, "I don't want to get him in trouble, I just need a police report." When asked how many times he was hit, the man said, "Once." The police told him the city of Golden would not extradite his friend from Wyoming.

WIFE WANTS TO LEAVE HUSBAND
Officers went to an apartment at 6:21 p.m. April 29 on 615 Water St. because a phone call from a 37-year-old woman was disconnected after the woman said, "He won't let me leave." Police talked to the woman's husband who said the couple argued and things became escalated when his wife wanted to leave him. The husband said nothing physical happened. Police advised the woman to collect her bag. She left the apartment. No further action was taken.
