GOLDEN, Colo. (May 22, 2008) - Colorado Schoolof Mines' Mike Jacobsma has been promoted to Associate Head Coach of the Orediggers' women's basketball program, as announced today by CSM Head Coach Paula Krueger.
Jacobsma, who will begin his sixth season at Mines in 2008-09, served in the capacity of Assistant Coach for the past five years (2003-04 to 2007-08).
"I am very pleased to be able to move Coach Jacobsma up to Associate Head Coach," said Krueger, who will begin her sixth season at the helm in 2008-09. "Coach Jacobsma has been instrumental to our success, and he will be an outstanding head coach in the near future."
Prior to his arrival at Mines, Jacobsma served for two years as an assistant coach at Wayne State College in Wayne, Neb. During the 2002-03 season, Jacobsma was an interim assistant coach at Wayne State and helped lead the team to a 17-11 mark. In 2001-02, Jacobsma served as a graduate assistant for the Wildcats.

overall, 8-11 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) marked the fifth consecutive season that the team had reached double figures in wins. Mines had three players named to the 2007-08 All-RMAC teams, including
Brecca Gaffney, who was selected as the East Division Freshman of theYear. CSM also had four student-athletes qualify for recognition on the Academic All-RMAC teams in 2007-08.
