PET STORE EMPLOYEE FAKES REFUND
An officer went to Petco, 17132 W. Colfax Ave. at 1:30 p.m. May 27. The manager showed the officer documentation from a regional manager of loss prevention indicating a 22-year-old female employee had conducted a fake refund on a ferret cage, put the amount on a store credit and used it in conjunction with a gift card to make a $107 purchase at a Petco in Aurora on May 2. On May 28 the officer contacted the woman and asked her if she made the fake refund and purchase and she said she did. Whe was issued a summons for theft.
MAGAZINE SALES PUT ON HOLD
On May 27 at 3:17 p.m. an officer went to 15 th and East streets on a report of a juvenile soliciting magazine subscriptions door to door. The 17-year-old male said he worked for Fidelity Reader Services and had been dropped off in Golden by a man who said he would come back and pick him up at 4:30 p.m. The officer asked the youth if he had a city of Golden sales tax license and he said, "No." The young man was asked to contact his supervisor by phone. The officer spoke to the supervisor by phone and advised him he would have to stop selling the subscriptions until he got a license.
ROCK COLLIDES WITH CAR IN GOLDEN
On May 25 an officer went to the 1400 block of Washington Avenue, where a 21-year-old man said he heard his car alarm go off around 1:45 a.m.. When he went outside to check on his car the back window was broken out. The officer observed a large rock in the back of the car. No suspect information was obtained and no further information was available.
BUS TICKET OUT OF MARRIAGE
On May 24 at 5:23 p.m., two officers went to the 600 block of Water Street on a disturbance report. Upon arrival they contacted couple. The woman said when she came home from work she thought her husband had taken her check from the mailbox and wouldn't give it to her. She said they were just arguing and nothing physical happened, but she wanted to leave. When asked why she hadn't left yet, she said she wasn't leaving until her husband gave her the check. The man said when he came home from work his wife just started yelling at him for no reason, accusing him of taking her check and ID. He denied having either and wanted the woman to leave. The woman said she was willing to move out, but wanted police to stand by while she gathered her belongings. When she completed this task she told police she had no method of transportation and no money for a bus. The woman was escorted to the police station where the officer gave her some bus tokens.
FILMMAKERS GET SUMMONSES
Four men were given summonses for trespassing at 11:15 a.m. May 26 when an officer noticed them in the parking lot of the Golden Mill at 1012 Ford St., which was closed for business. The officer noticed cameras set up. The men appeared to be filming skateboarding. The owner of the business had previously asked the police to cite anyone trespassing on his property. When asked if any of them worked for the Golden Mill, all the men said, "No." When they were asked if they had permission from the owner to be on the property they said No. They said they earned a living filming skateboarding at various locations. They ranged in age from 19 to 20 years of age. The men asked if they could be issued a warning rather than summonses. That option was declined.
